Hearts of Oak sack Coach David Duncan David Duncan fired as Hearts Coach[/caption]

Hearts of Oak have parted ways with coach David Duncan.

According to information, there has been “a long standing misunderstanding between the former Ashantigold coach and the board chairman of the Rainbow team Togbe Afede.”

Duncan was given the sack after training on Friday morning when he was summoned by the Managing Director Neil Armstrong Mortagbe.

The decision was reached on Thursday evening. Duncan, who has been described by insiders as a “talkertive”, has allegedly complained about getting the right replacement for his trusted goal poacher Mahatma Otoo, who now plies his trade in Norway.

“Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club Limited wish to announce that we have mutually agreed with Coach David Duncan to part ways with immediate effect,” an official statement read.

“We wish to assure the Club’s teeming followers that the Club remains focused on mounting a credible challenge for the Premier League and FA Cup. Meanwhile, Assistant Coach Ben Adjei has been asked to take temporary charge of the team.”

Hearts currently lie second on the log with 20 points – four short of leaders Asante Kotoko. Duncan’s Hearts have won six out of 10 games this term, drawn two and lost the remainder.

Since his appointment, Duncan has helped the Phobians, who were plunging last season, to wake up from their slumber with some impressive output in the second round of last term.

Goal understands Professor Mintah is a likely heir to Duncan.
