Bob Bradley wants to stay on as coach of Egypt despite his likely failure to lead the side to the 2014 World Cup.

The Pharaohs are in the worst position of the playoffs going into next month’s return encounter.

The seven-time African Cup winners suffered a 6-1 rout against the Black Stars last week to set Ghana on its way to another World Cup qualification.

The humiliating defeat has sparked reports Bradley would be sacked even before the return encounter in November.

But the Egyptian FA have denied any such move and would prefer for the American’s contract to die a natural death after the next month’s clash rather than cough up a huge compensation if its breached.

The former USA coach who remains slightly hopeful of his team’s chances wants to extend his stay with the Pharaohs even after the second leg game is played.

“Our team has worked very, very hard to try and make a dream, an important dream for all Egyptians,” Bradley said.

“I am sad that we’ve put ourselves in a position right now where that dream is at risk.

“It’s going to be difficult, but we still have 90 more minutes.”

“If it is left to me I would be with the team because we had been together throughout this period with a dream.

“It’s important that we can stand together one more time.”
