Eckankar Ghana has organized a national inter-religious musical concert in Accra to thank God for the peaceful and successful hearing of the presidential election petition.

The concert, which was themed: “Uniting Ghana, The Role of Religion”, brought together Muslims and Hari-krishiners, among others to offer songs of thanksgiving to God.

The programme was also attended by some political parties’ representatives, including the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the People’s National Convention (PNC).

In an interview with DAILY GUIDE, President of Eckankar, Charlotte Asante called on Ghanaians not to allow different faith to divide them.

She said, “Religion should unite us rather than divide us. The fact that we have different faith and religious beliefs does not mean that we are different people. At the end of the day, we are all children of God.”

Ms Asante said, “God has done so much for us that we have every cause to give Him thanks.”

Recalling the atmosphere before the 2012 general elections, she said, “It was the biggest test that Ghana had to pass, and by the grace of God that mark of distinction was attained by the country.”

“As if that was all, the country was confronted again with the eight-month long election petition. Through all these moments, the common word on the lips of every Ghanaian was peace. But it seems all the religious groups or individuals seemed to have ceased talking about peace now. That it is why we have organized this inter-religious musical concert,” Ms Asante said.

Ms Asante added that Ghana’s democracy should not be toyed with because it had come a long way, noting “we should not allow our differences to divide us.”

She also talked about the spiritual and natural laws that politicians could utilize to help develop the nation.

The president of Eckankar Ghana therefore urged politicians to also learn and use natural and spiritual laws.

She urged the youth to draw closer to God and abstain from evil which could put their lives in jeopardy and destroy the country.

Eckankar, a religion of light and sound, helps people to discover their spiritual purpose in life.

Eckankar, means “Co-worker with God.” It offers ways by which people could explore their own unique and natural relationship with the Divine.

Its teachings, which resurfaced in 1965, emphasize the value of personal experiences as the most natural way back to God.
