The Black Stars’ man on the touchline could walk home with the huge amount of money if he is able to book a spot at Brazil 2014

Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah is reported to be on the verge of pocketing a whopping $300,000 if he qualifies the Black Stars to the 2014 World Cup, according to The Finder.

The former Kotoko left-back will receive the kitty if he becomes the first local coach to guide the four-time African champions to the global football fiesta as stated in his contract that expires after Brazil 2014.

He was in the thick of things when doubts plagued his appointment as he lost his second competitive match 1-0 against Zambia. However, he has been able to turn his fortunes around spectacularly finishing top of Group D which comprised Lesotho and Sudan as well.

He is well on the path of becoming the first Black coach to lead the Black Stars to the World Cup. That did not come easy as he was threatened to lose his job by every game he fails to win.

He led Ghana to fourth-place at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

Appiah has the return leg against the Pharaohs of Egypt to clear to gain a ticket to next year’s World Cup as well as walk home with $300,000.
