Ghana FA denies Klaus Toppmoller rumours

The Ghana FA has rubbish Klaus Toppmoller approach

The Ghana FA has described as ‘total fabrication’ the latest slew of media reports that German Klaus Toppmoller has been approached to take charge of the Black Stars ahead of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

Some Ghanaian portals have shockingly claimed the 62-year-old has been contacted to become the new Technical Director of the Ghana FA.

Others have claimed the former Bayer Leverkusen manager has been lined-up a shock replacement for Kwesi Appiah despite being on the threshold of qualifying the Black Stars to the World Cup.

Ghana FA spokesman Ibrahim Sannie-Daara has rubbished such reports insisting the FA won’t get distracted with such ‘total fabrications’.

“Absolutely not! We are going to Egypt with Kwesi Appiah and to the World Cup with him,” It is not true whatsoever,” the Ghana FA spokesperson Ibrahim Sannie Daara is quoted by graphiconline.

Appiah is in line to become the first indigenous trainer to guide the four-time African champions to the World Cup after the Black Stars hammered Egypt 6-1 in a first leg tie of the play-off in Kumasi last Tuesday.

The purported approach from the FA has therefore come as huge surprise to many who have questioned the authenticity of such reports.
