A leading member of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has launched a rather scathing attack on the National Security Advisor describing him in unsavory words as the country’s “number one vampire” and an “associate crookish monster”.
Brigadier General Nunoo-Mensah was tagged with that seedy description following remarks he passed over the weekend which appears not to have gone down well with labour unions and the opposition NPP.
Commissioning a nine-unit classroom block for O’Reilly Senior High last Saturday, he slammed workers who use strikes as a means to address their salary grievances. He also suggested that the salaries of striking workers be suspended, calling them “indiscipline” and unpatriotic enough to sacrifice for the country as some have done.
But discussing the issue on Okay Fm, the NPP’s National Youth Organizer, Emmanuel Atefuah Danso, opined that the National Security Advisor was part of the group former President Rawlings’s recently alluded to as “crookish monsters” within the John Mahama administration bent on running down the Presidency by their disparaging comments and offensive conduct.
“….a whole security advisor to the President on national security matters, speaking like this, shows where the country is going under President Mahama. He is rather a threat to national security of this country, because, in the heat of Labor Union’s penchant for industrial action he is encouraging workers to cause turmoil and push the nation back to brain drain system we have fought so hard to curb in the country,” he added.
